You're seeing default or template content (such as placeholder text or Webflow branding) on your published site, likely because content wasn't updated or SEO/meta settings weren’t customized.
1. Update Page Content in the Designer
- Open your project in the Webflow Designer.
- Click into each page section and replace any placeholder text/images from the template with your own content.
- Common template elements include: headings labeled “Your Company Name,” generic blurbs, or placeholder images.
- Use the Navigator panel (press
F) to check for hidden sections or symbols still containing default content.
2. Edit SEO and Meta Information
- Go to Page Settings for each individual page (click the gear icon next to the page name in the Pages panel).
- Under the SEO Settings, change:
- Title Tag (e.g., “Home | My Business” instead of “Webflow Template”)
- Meta Description (customize for search results and sharing)
- Update the Open Graph content as well to reflect your site (used for social sharing previews).
3. Check Site-Wide Settings
- Go to Project Settings > General
- Change the Site Name to reflect your brand and remove any default references.
- Go to Project Settings > SEO
- Ensure the Global Site Title and Meta Description are customized.
4. Publish Your Project Again
- After making all changes, click Publish in the top-right corner of the Designer.
- Choose your domain (staging or custom) to publish changes live.
Summary
To replace default Webflow or template content, update all placeholder sections in the Webflow Designer, adjust Page SEO Settings, and publish your site again. Also confirm your Project Settings don’t contain old template names or text.
