To view your Webflow site in a full browser like Chrome instead of using the in-designer preview, you need to publish it and open the live version.
1. Publish the Site to Webflow.io
- Click the “Publish” button in the top-right corner of the Webflow Designer or Dashboard.
- In the dropdown, check the box next to your webflow.io subdomain (e.g.,
yoursite.webflow.io). - Click Publish to Selected Domains.
- Once publishing is complete, click the link in the success message or open Chrome and go to
https://yoursite.webflow.io.
2. Preview on a Custom Domain (If Configured)
- If you've connected a custom domain (like
example.com), you can also publish and preview on that: - In the publish dialog, select your custom domain along with the Webflow subdomain.
- After publishing, open Chrome and go to your custom domain URL.
- Make sure your DNS settings are correctly pointed to Webflow's IPs for custom domains to work.
3. Use the "Share" Link for Client Reviews
- If you want others to preview your project without Webflow login access:
- Click Designer › Project Settings › General.
- Enable “Share Link” under the “Editor Preview” section.
- Share the provided read-only URL—however, note this doesn’t render the site in the live browser, just gives read-only Designer access.
Summary
To preview your Webflow site in Chrome, publish it to its Webflow.io domain or custom domain, then visit that live URL. The in-browser preview is always accessed by interacting with the live, published version of your site.
