To edit text in text blocks of a Webflow template, you need to enter Webflow’s Designer and select each text element directly.
1. Open the Project in Webflow Designer
- Log in to your Webflow account.
- Navigate to the Dashboard, then click your project name to open it in the Designer.
2. Locate the Page and Section with the Text
- Use the Pages panel (keyboard shortcut: P) to open the page that contains the text.
- Scroll or click through the Navigator (keyboard shortcut: F) to find the correct section or layout.
3. Select the Text Block
- Click directly on the text block you want to edit. This may be a Heading (e.g., H1, H2), Paragraph, or Rich Text element.
- When selected, the border of the text block will highlight in blue.
4. Edit the Text Content
- Double-click inside the text block or press Enter to enter text editing mode.
- Make your changes directly within the text area.
- You can also edit text properties (font, size, color, alignment) using the Style Panel on the right.
5. Use CMS Collections (If Applicable)
- If the text comes from a CMS Collection, you can’t edit it directly on the canvas.
- Instead, go to the CMS panel, locate the appropriate Collection, and edit the content inside the item fields.
6. Save Your Changes
- Webflow saves changes automatically, but best practice is to click Publish (top-right corner) to see the changes live on your domain or staging site.
Summary
To edit text in a Webflow template, open the project in the Designer, locate the text block, click to enter text editing mode, and make your changes. If the text is from a CMS Collection, edit it from the CMS panel instead.
