Webflow automatically creates backups (version history) as you design, but these backups do not count against your project’s storage limits, and you can’t delete them manually.
1. Webflow Backup Overview
- Webflow creates backups automatically when you publish or make significant changes.
- You can also create manual backups using the Save Version button.
- Backups are stored in your project’s Version History, accessible from the Designer.
2. Backup Storage and Space
- Backups are not included in your project’s asset hosting or bandwidth limits.
- Deleting backups will not free up space for assets or other usage quotas.
- Webflow does not currently allow users to delete automatic or manual backups.
3. Best Practices If You're Concerned About Space
- To free up space, consider optimizing or deleting large assets (images, videos, files).
- Use external hosting (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, or CDN) for large media files.
- Check your Asset Manager to review and delete any unused files.
Summary
You cannot delete automatic backups in Webflow, and they do not consume storage space that affects your project limits. Instead, focus on managing your assets if you need to free up space.
